How to Improve your IR35 Position

This week Seb Maley joins us to share his vast knowledge of accounting and contracting.

Seb is the Director of Qdos Accounting and in this video he explains how to improve your IR35 position.

As previously mentioned in videos by Troy Stevens, IR35 is incredibly important to all contractors and it is crucial that contractors have an understanding of it.

In short, IR35 affects all contractors who do not meet HMRC’s definition of ‘self employment’. The IR35 rules will result in increased tax and will prevent contractor companies from retaining profits to grow their business in the future.

“We know that IR35 is going to be with us for the foreseeable future. We also know that there will be a significant increase in the number of enquiries, so there is no better time than the present to ensure you are well protected.”

“You often can’t help the contract you are given, or the attitude of the client you are working for. But there are certain steps you can take to significantly improve your prospects of success should HMRC come knocking.” – Seb Maley

If this article and video was any help to you, or if you are a current contractor and have had experiences with IR35, please email us at contributor@midlandsbusiness.net – we would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your continued support of Midlands Business.
